Hypnotism is a method by which the outer mind of a person can be brought to sleep while the inner mind can be waken up, and governed for getting desired results.
Hypnotism is rooted into the deepest traditions and is the oldest knowledge of India. Any one can learn the science of hypnotism easily. However it is important that person has patience and hope and the will power to succeed. Hypnotism comes with so many benefits. Hypnotism is known to help in giving up bad habits. Hypnotism is very useful in the medical field especially during heart operation.
In many western countries, surgical operations are done after hypnotising the patients. Once hypnotised, patients do not feel any pain at all. A person cannot be hypnotised without his or her wish. Unless one is willing to co-operate, he/she cannot be hypnotised. The hypnotist must also be faithful. A person who is merciless and is devoid of emotion cannot be hypnotised.
Also, someone who believes in only what he sees is not a good subject for hypnotism. So such persons will be difficult to hypnotise. To bring the desired hypnotic effect the hypnotist must know how he should conduct himself, what all he must do and with what instruments he must equip himself.
There are certain principles that hypnotism is based upon:
1. Any sensible person whether man or women could be a successful hypnotist. It is a science which one must learn steadily.
2. A mentally retarded person cannot be hypnotised.
3. If the hypnotist and subject are of the same age, it is easier to hypnotise the subject.
4. A person must not be made to act or behave in a way contrary to the beliefs of his religion or personal state.
5. The belief of some people that hypnotic sleep will conclude in an endless sleep is not true. As soon as the trace is withdrawn, he/she is restored to consiousness.
6. When the person is in hypnotic sleep, the inner potential of the person lends itself for a better realisation, further development and right orientation.
7. Hypnotism has proved particularly useful for the release of bad habits.
8. During hypnotic sleep, ones organs of perception and action remain quite active even though the subject seem to be asleep.
9. Hypnotism creates an artifical sleep by making the outer mind asleep. However the inner mind remains awake and lends itself to the control of the hypnotist.
10. It is risky to presume that one is taking resort to hypnotism for more enjoyment. So induction of hypnosis just for the sake of fun is strictly prohibited.
